The Strand Shopping Centre, Burgas
ASP were the local architects responsible for the completion of The Strand - a retail centre of an open type. It was designed by the London based company Pod Architects. The total built area is over 60 000 m2.
The building has three levels with shops units. The larger part of the lower ground floor is taken by an open parking for 694 cars. The cinema at the ground floor has 8 halls and a large lobby. At mezzanine there are some restaurants and cafes – each having access to a large terrace covered by a canopy.
The structure at LGF combines reinforced concrete with brick walls and precast concrete panels for the facades. At GF and MF the main and secondary structures are metal and alluminium panels form the external walls.
The building was finished in 2 years with a budget of 40 million euros.
